Layla is one of our Structural Engineers and has both architecture and engineering degrees. She is committed to developing the use of timber in architectural and engineering design. She is currently undertaking her doctoral thesis on timber engineering, specifically the use of hybrid timber-steel systems towards the development of tall timber structures. Layla has developed an Excel program for the design and optimisation of rigid timber connections and earthquake actions.
